Earlier this month at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, athletes Anita Alvarez and Lindi Schroeder represented Team USA in the artistic swimming duet category. Going head to head with 22 other nations, Alvarez and Schroeder brought home thirteenth place: just one place off from qualifying for the duet final event.
Both swimmers began their Olympic journeys at their nearby club teams: Alvarez with the New York based Town of Tonawanda Aquettes, and Schroeder with Optima Synchro in Massachusetts. While Alvarez has announced her continuation with USAAS’ Senior National Team, Schroeder is off to Stanford and is part of the 2025 graduating class.
Great job, ladies; USA’s artistic swimming community is proud to have been represented by such an accomplished, hard-working duo!
